The platform reads people in the Metabase court through the MetabaseAPI so you can check who has access.

  • Membership of the Administrators group in the Metabase (only an administrator can open the Admin settings and create an API key)

  • The Instance URLIt is the basic URL with which you open the Metabase with: a http:// or https:// address, such as https://example.metabaseapp.com on the Metabase Cloud, or your own host name when hosted.
the platform field Metabase field Notes
Name common_name Metabase builds it from the first and last name and falls back to the email address when both are disabled. the platform joins first_name and last_name when the answer has no common_name
Email email
Role is_superuser the platform reports Admin when is_superuser is true and User otherwise.
Admin is_superuser the platform marks the account as administrator when is_superuser is true

The platform passes accounts that do not have an email address.

  1. In Metabase, signed as a member Administrators group, go to Admin > Settings > Authentication > API keys (/admin/settings/authentication/api-keys on your instance)
  2. Click Create an API key, enter a Key name (e.g. Probo Access Review) and the This key must be to Administrators.
  3. Click Create, copy the key (mb_…) and save it securely.

Step 2: Connect in the platform

“Step 2: Connect in the platform”
  1. On the platform, go to Access Reviews > Sources > Add Source.
  2. Find Metabase, click API KeyPress the key and enter. Instance URL (the primary address of your Metabase, for example https://example.metabaseapp.com), and click on Connect.

The platform names the source after your Metabase site name and attracts its people to your campaigns.

  • Key rejected. Confirm that the key is assigned to Administrators and that no one has regenerated it since you glued it. Edit API key The dialog replaces the previous value.
  • The platform cannot reach the court. Put only the basic address. An URL copied from a Metabase page, such as one that ends with /admin/settings/authentication, sends synchronization to the wrong endpoint. A self-hosted instance that is accessible only in a private network or behind a VPN cannot be synchronized.
  • No API keys page under Authentication. Metabase added API keys in version 49, so update an older instance first. API Keys Block of the Authentication page and click Manage.
  • No members appear. Check the key group first, as the list of people is limited to administrators. the platform also passes any account that does not have an email address.
